General Purpose Acetoxy Silicone Sealant for Construction and DIY Soudal Silirub 1 Universal Silicone is a high-quality, one-component acetoxy curing sealant suitable for a wide range of sealing and bonding tasks. It provides a durable, flexible, and waterproof seal on most non-porous surfaces, making it ideal for general construction, glazing, and sanitary applications. Designed for both professional and DIY use. Key Features & Benefits Versatile Use: Ideal for sealing glass, aluminium, ceramics, tiles, and coated surfaces. Durable & Elastic: Permanently flexible with excellent weather and UV resistance. Waterproof Seal: Protects against moisture ingress in interior and exterior joints. Easy Application: Smooth application and easy tooling with a caulking gun. Acetoxy Cure: Cures quickly and delivers strong adhesion on non-porous substrates. Product Details Type: Acetoxy silicone sealant Colour: White (other colours available) Packaging: 300ml cartridge Skin Time: Approx. 10–15 minutes Curing Rate: 2–3mm per 24 hours Application Instructions Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of grease or dust. Mask edges if necessary. Application: Cut nozzle to required size, apply sealant using a caulking gun in a continuous bead. Tooling: Smooth with a wet spatula or tool within 10 minutes of application. Curing: Allow at least 24 hours to cure fully. Avoid water contact during initial curing. Limitations Not suitable for natural stone, mirrors, or applications with sensitive metals like copper or lead. May not adhere well to porous surfaces without a primer. Health & Safety Use in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wear appropriate PPE. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full safety information.
