Born in Argentina, he began at Argentinos Juniors before moving to Boca Juniors, where his genius quickly made him a national hero. He later played for Barcelona, Napoli, Sevilla, Newell’s Old Boys and returned to Boca Juniors. His time at Napoli turned him into an immortal figure, leading the club to two Serie A titles, the Coppa Italia, UEFA Cup and Supercoppa Italiana, transforming the club’s history forever. For Argentina, Maradona earned 91 caps and scored 34 goals. He played in four World Cups: 1982, 1986, 1990 and 1994.
