Caballo Loco Grand Cru Sagrada Familia is an exceptional single-terroir red wine from Viña Valdivieso, sourced exclusively from the Sagrada Familia vineyard in the Curicó Valley, one of Chile's most distinctive wine-growing regions. Inspired by the French Grand Cru system, this wine celebrates the unrepeatable character of its origin, crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, and Malbec grown in conditions that cannot be replicated anywhere else in Chile.. Vineyard & Production. Grapes are sourced from a specific block within the Sagrada Familia vineyard, selected for the uniqueness and quality of their terroir, and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels to develop perfect balance and complexity. The wine is crafted using the same philosophy as the original Caballo Loco, a progressive blending approach inspired by the solera method used in sherry production, combining the current vintage with previous editions to build extraordinary layers of depth. Bottled at 14% ABV.. Tasting Notes. Vibrant dark red in the glass. The nose is complex and inviting, dominated by fresh black cherries and red fruits, complemented by notes of cedar. On the palate, unctuous dark fruit flavours combine with a soft mineral character and sweet spices, supported by fresh acidity and fine, silky tannins on the finish.. Perfect Pairings.
