Lagg Corriecravie Heavily Peated Single Malt Whisky 70cl
Lagg Small Batch Quarter Cask Single Malt Whisky 70cl
Lagg Kilmory Heavily Peated Single Malt Whisky 70cl
The Lagg Single Malt Kilmory Edition represents the pinnacle of the Lagg Distillery's offerings as it takes its place as the flagship Single Malt and marks the first release in their core range. This exquisite expression is entirely matured in 100% First-Fill Bourbon Barrels, reaching a bold 46% Vol alcohol content. Notably, it is crafted without undergoing chill filtration, and no artificial colouring is added, preserving its natural essence.. To create the distinctive Kilmory Edition, the master distillers at Lagg carefully selected Concerto malted barley and utilized water sourced from their very own borehole. During the production process, the malt is peated to 50ppm in the kiln, lending a subtle smokiness to the final product. To enhance the richness and texture, the malt is crushed and agitated in the mash tun, resulting in a cloudy wort that imparts a more oil-laden and robust flavour profile. The choice of yeast and fermentation duration play a crucial role in developing the desired full-bodied taste during distillation, which occurs twice in their meticulously crafted copper pot stills, distilled at nearly twice the speed of their Lochranza counterpart.. The resulting taste profile of the Lagg Kilmory Edition is a vibrant and fresh symphony of flavours, destined to be the foundation for Lagg Single Malt's future offerings. Marrying the alluring influence of peat with the enchanting nuances of vanilla and cream from the American oak, this expression perfectly embodies the essence of Lagg's house style. The deliberate use of Bourbon Barrels, in combination with their peated spirit, ensures that the Kilmory Edition captures the quintessential Lagg identity.. In conclusion, the Lagg Single Malt Kilmory Edition is a masterpiece that showcases the distillery's dedication to crafting premium whiskies with character and finesse. With its distinctive flavour profile and commitment to natural processes, this expression will undoubtedly charm whiskey enthusiasts and stands as a testament to the future of Lagg Single Malts.
