Quinta de la Rosa 10 year old Tawny Port NV
A classic elegant 10-year-old Tawny aged in old 550-litre oak pipes for an average of 10 years. The style is relatively dry and savoury for a Tawny with the oak ageing bringing considerable nutty and dried-fruit complexity. Amber-garnet in colour with an inviting nose of dried apricot figs and orange peel alongside toasted almonds honey and subtle spice. The palate is rich but beautifully balanced combining concentrated dried-fruit flavours with nutty caramelised and gently oxidative notes. There is a lovely freshness running through the wine finishing long dry and savoury with well-integrated brandy warmth and a delicate citrus lift. Excellent with mince pies orange and chocolate desserts crA me brA lee dried-fruit desserts and mature cheeses. Owner Sophia Bergqvist particularly recommends it with egg-based desserts like crA me brA lee.
