1.6m Cube Sauna — Outdoor Garden Sauna (2–3 Person) - Thermowood / Harvia SP90XW 9kW WiFi
A compact rounded-cube garden sauna with a full-height glass front, built for small gardens where a barrel or cabin sauna will not fit. The curved profile sheds rain and snow, and the toughened glass front keeps a small footprint from feeling enclosed. Key specification Capacity: 2–3 people External dimensions (L × W × H): 160 × 215 × 232 cm Wall thickness: 44 mm Body timber: spruce or thermowood Benches: linden wood Floor: terrace boarding Roof: two-layer bitumen shingles Interior lighting: Harvia light included The length extension and front terrace options change the external footprint. Please ask us to confirm the exact dimensions and delivered weight for your chosen configuration before you lay a base or arrange access. Choose your heater — or take the shell only Every cabin is available shell only, so you can fit the heater that suits your site. Shell only — no heater fitted. Choose this if you are adding a gas heater, or supplying your own electric. Harvia Trendi KIP80 8.0 kW — electric, factory fitted Harvia Top Steel M90 9.0 kW — electric, factory fitted Harvia SP90XW 9 kW WiFi — electric with app control, factory fitted Electrical supply: requirements depend on your heater choice. The 9 kW models typically require a dedicated high-amperage or three-phase supply rather than a standard domestic socket. We confirm the exact requirement with you before installation, and all electrical work must be completed by a qualified electrician. Gas-ready — run it off-grid This cabin can be fitted with a FinSteam off-grid propane heater, so it runs with no electrical supply to the heater at all. Order the sauna as shell only and choose your heater separately — the flue is cut and the heater installed by our fitters on installation day. Botnia 81 — 8.1 kW off-grid propane Aurora 81 — 8.1 kW premium off-grid propane Both are available with the Orbis stone cage, Njord heat shield and Halo safety rail. See all gas sauna heaters → Configuration options Specified at order: Exterior paint — 11 finishes from natural oiled through to coal black Shingle colour — black, grey, red, brown or green Bench timber — linden/aspen (light) or alder (darker) Heater position — front left or front right Glass — tempered, black or mirrored Windows — front and rear panoramic options Interior and exterior lighting, including RGB LED Optional stainless steel bands, length extension and front terrace Base & groundworks — what size slab do I need? This is the question worth answering before you order, because the base has to be ready on delivery day and cannot be corrected afterwards. The cabin footprint is 160 × 215 cm (length × width). We recommend oversizing the base so no part of the sauna overhangs and you have a dry margin to stand on. Approach Base size Notes Minimum 1.6 × 2.15 m Exact footprint — no margin for setting-out error. We don't advise it. Recommended 1.8 × 2.35 m Roughly 10 cm proud all round. Sheds water clear of the timber. With working margin 2.0 × 2.55 m ~20 cm all round — easier to work around during assembly and maintenance. Adding the length extension or front terrace? Ask us first. Both change the footprint, so the figures above no longer apply — we will confirm the exact size for your configuration before you lay anything. Concrete specification: 100 mm (4″) of concrete over 100–150 mm of compacted MOT Type 1 hardcore, with A142 or A193 steel mesh in the upper third. That is standard domestic slab practice and comfortably more than this cabin needs. The weight is not the difficult part. Even fully loaded with bathers, a heater full of stones and water, this cabin spreads its load well within what a 100 mm reinforced slab on well-compacted ground will carry. What actually matters is flatness and drainage: Level to within about 5 mm across the whole base. A cube with a full-height glass door is unforgiving — twist the base and the door stops closing squarely against its seal. Do not let water pond under the timber. Either lay a slight fall (about 1:80) away from the door, or lay it dead level and let the surrounding ground drain. Leave the bearers proud. The cabin sits on timber base beams, so the shell never touches the concrete directly — that air gap is what keeps the base timbers dry. Don't bed it down solid. Concrete is not the only option. At this size all of these are perfectly sound: Paving slabs on a compacted sub-base — 50 mm slabs on sharp sand over MOT Type 1. Cheaper, no curing wait, and reversible if you move the sauna later. Concrete pads under the bearers — 400 × 400 × 100 mm pads at each bearer point instead of a full slab. Least material, but every pad must be dead level with the others. Ground screws — quick, no spoil to dispose of, and good on sloping or awkward-access sites. A poured slab needs around 28 days to reach full strength — it is walkable within a few days and generally fine to build on at seven. If your delivery date is tight, slabs or ground screws avoid that wait altogether. Send
