Quarried olivine dolerite, chosen for heat storage, durability and clean, safe use at sauna temperatures. Why proper sauna stones matter Heat storage — dense stone holds heat and gives soft, even löyly when you throw water Safety — only officially designated sauna stones should ever be used in a heater; ordinary garden stone can crack or spit at temperature The right size — 5–10 cm is the correct grade for Harvia electric heaters How many boxes do I need? Harvia Cilindro PC70 — approx. 90 kg (5 boxes) Harvia Cilindro PC90 / PC90XE / PC90XW — approx. 80 kg (4 boxes) Wall-mounted Harvia heaters (e.g. Vega) — typically 20–25 kg (1–2 boxes) Stones should be rinsed before first use and stacked loosely so air can circulate — full instructions come with your heater.
