This version of Filey Bay's Flagship Single Malt Whisky has been bottled at 'Marrying Strength': 50.1% alc. Bold with heightened and enriched characteristics of the classic Flagship flavour profile: Honey, vanilla, citrus and caramel. What is marrying strength? Marrying strength is a term that The Spirit of Yorkshire team use behind the scenes to describe a whisky sitting between cask strength: usually 57-60% straight from the cask) and bottling strength (usually 45-48% for them.) Before bottling and final reduction of the classic Flagship to its bottling strength at 46%, it spends long periods of time at this 'marrying strength', allowing the whisky to harmonise, a gentle and controlled slow reduction as we take it down from cask strength to bottling strength. In short, it's lower alcohol than cask strength but higher than the standard Flagship bottling! Perfect for those who like a fruitier style of whisky. Flagship is light and creamy, natural in colour and non chill filtered. Flagship is distilled in Yorkshire with 100% locally-grown barley and aged in bourbon casks. This is our top-selling English Whisky and an excellent choice if you are beginning to explore the world of English Whisky. It offers delightful notes of honeycomb, vanilla, and peachy fruit.
