Wire Works Whisky Port Cask whisky is a core lightly-peated house style single malt spirit, aged in both fresh Tawny Port barriques, and first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a complex whisky with a rich oily texture and a bold, vibrant fruit profile both from the single malt spirit and the port oak. Bottled at 50.2% Alc. TASTING NOTES Overview: Cinder toffee, demerara sugar, strawberry laces on the nose, with flavours of vanilla fudge, milk chocolate, marzipan, and cherry pie filling on the palate.Nose: Bakewell pudding, milk chocolate, cinder toffee, burnt sugar, cinnamon buns, liquorice all sorts, cherry lozenges, toasted almond, candied ginger, strawberry jam.Palate: Marzipan, strawberries and cream, tinned peaches, lemon curd, vanilla fudge, spearmint, milk chocolate, orange zest and rhubarb.Finish: Cherry pie filling, coffee grounds, honey, bonfire toffee, hibiscus, Turkish delight, and eucalyptus. 100% natural colour. Non-chill filtered. White Peak, a Derbyshire distillery established in 2016 by Max and Claire Vaughan, crafts English whisky, rum, and gin. Situated at a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a former wire works near River Derwent: thus the Wire Works brand. Their on-site process, from mashing malt to slow fermentation, influenced by local yeast, creates a unique flavour profile.
