Picque & Mixe Piquepoul-Terret | Picque Mixe Piquepoul Terret
Pique & Mixe Piquepoul–Terret is a bright, coastal white from the Florensac terroir in the Languedoc—one of the oldest vineyard zones on the Mediterranean coast. The wine consistently shows pale colour, citrus‑driven aromatics, crisp acidity, and a lightly saline, sea‑breeze character. Tasting Notes Aromatic profile — Pale yellow with green reflections. The nose is fresh and clean, showing grapefruit, lemon zest, green apple, and white‑fleshed fruits, often lifted by white flowers (acacia, hawthorn) and a subtle sea‑spray minerality. Palate — Light, taut, and zesty with vibrant citrus, orchard fruit, and a crisp, mouth‑watering acidity. Terret adds a gentle softness and aromatic lift, while Piquepoul drives the bright, linear freshness. A fine saline edge and clean texture keep the wine energetic. Texture & structure — Bright, refreshing, and elegant. Some cuvées (especially the sparkling version) show fine, abundant bubbles and a delicate mousse; still versions remain lean, crisp, and dry with excellent purity. Finish — Long, citrus‑driven, and invigorating, with lingering grapefruit and a touch of saline minerality. Producer & Terroir Character Florensac terroir — High‑ground vineyards on clay and limestone, cooled by Mediterranean breezes. Night harvesting preserves freshness and aromatics. Winemaking — Stainless‑steel fermentation at low temperatures; ageing on fine lees with regular bâtonnage to build subtle richness and roundness. Style signature — A modern, vibrant southern French white that balances crisp acidity with gentle aromatic lift, showcasing the synergy of Piquepoul and Terret. Description Pique & Mixe Piquepoul–Terret is a bright, coastal white that captures the freshness of the Mediterranean. Pale and glimmering in the glass, it opens with lively aromas of lemon zest, grapefruit, green apple, and delicate white flowers, touched by a whisper of sea breeze. The palate is crisp, vibrant, and beautifully clean, driven by Piquepoul’s citrus‑charged acidity and softened by Terret’s subtle aromatic charm. A hint of saline minerality adds definition, leading to a long, refreshing finish. Crafted from night‑harvested fruit grown on clay‑limestone soils, and aged on fine lees for finesse, this is a wine made for seafood, shellfish, salads, and sun‑lit afternoons. Modern, elegant, and effortlessly drinkable, it’s a standout example of southern France’s coastal whites.
