The Sir Winston Churchill cuvée was created to honour Pol Roger`s most loyal customer, Churchill drank their Champagne daily and considered it his favourite. This is their top wine, made only in exceptional vintages from Grand Cru vineyards. The exact blend is a closely guarded secret, though it`s Pinot Noir-dominated. The 2015 vintage in Champagne was outstanding, producing wines with ripeness, structure and aging potential. Magnum format ages more gracefully than standard bottles. Brioche, roasted nuts and ripe stone fruit with honey, toast and subtle spice. Full bodied with fine, persistent mousse and vibrant acidity. There`s power and concentration here with layers of complexity, this is serious vintage Champagne showing beautiful development. Creamy texture with mineral backbone and incredible length. Harmonious and refined. Serve cool (8-10°C), not ice cold, to appreciate the complexity. This deserves special occasions: pair with caviar, native lobster, truffle-topped dishes, or roasted grouse. Alternatively, simply pour generously and celebrate properly. Drinking beautifully now but will continue to develop over another 10-15 years in magnum.
