The Campillo Blanco Fermentado en Barrica 2024 is impressive proof of how skillfully white wine and oak barrels can combine in Rioja. Produced by the traditional Bodegas Campillo winery, part of the renowned Grupo Faustino, this wine comes from carefully selected plots in Rioja Alavesa – one of the highest and coolest regions within the appellation. The climatic conditions and calcareous clay soils ensure particularly aromatic and balanced grapes. This characterful white wine is primarily made from Viura – the classic white wine grape variety of Rioja. After a careful harvest, fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, where the wine also ages on its fine lees for several months. This vinification process gives the wine structure, depth, and a harmonious oak note without obscuring its freshness and elegance. The 2024 vintage once again demonstrates the house's stylistic signature: balanced, refined and modernly interpreted.
