The whiskey is, like many Islay bottlings without a distillery name, distilled and aged at Diageo, in this case by their largest distillery on the island of Islay (Caol Ila ?!).The name of the distillery is not on the bottle and that has some decisive reasons. Nor is the age, because the next small batch may be a bit younger or older. In this case, the youngest barrel included in this batch is 5 years old.What matters is the taste. The whiskey is almost colorless, which means that the barrels have hardly had any influence on the maturation and taste. It has therefore resulted in a splash-pure, clean and rich whiskey full of matured natural characteristics of the spirit.Classic Islay properties with the characteristic peat smoke and medicinal notes for which the island's whiskeys are known. Not cold filtered, not colored and filled at 46%. An appealing, rich, young Islay bottling for a great price.
