The baby harp might be a somewhat underappreciated member of the harp family but you can change that! Corinna Wong a Hong Kong award-winning teacher is your guide through the basic techniques of playing the baby harp. This free online course begins by introducing the different types and sizes of the harp and how to maintain it properly. Next you will learn to tune the baby harp using your smartphone.We then take a brief look at the basic music theory. You will become familiar with the special markings and fingerings on the harp score. We demonstrate different postures you can use to be comfortable while playing followed by the hand position that enables you to produce a full rich sound. We illustrate how to master the hand position by considering the concepts and methods for opening the hand plucking the strings and closing the fingers.After working through these sections you will finally be ready to perform some exercises and songs to enhance your understanding. These exercises help you become secure in playing with the correct hand position focusing on the techniques required to play like a professional harpist. You will welcome Corinna's expertise as you learn to play. By completing this course you will be confident to play with all four fingers of each hand and use both right and left hands together or independently.
