Om een voor jou relevante essentie te selecteren, denk je aan je eigen persoonlijkheid of gebruik je de Bach Adviesdraaischijf. Je kunt de essentie combineren met een andere - mix maximaal 7 essenties. Deze kun je samen mengen in het Bach Mixing flesje waarna er een mix ontstaat die specifiek bedoeld is voor jou. De essenties worden bereid volgens traditionele productiemethoden, waaronder de zonmethode en de kookmethode. Bij de zonmethode worden bloemen gedurende enkele uren in zuiver water in zonlicht geplaatst. Bij de kookmethode worden geselecteerde plantendelen gekookt in zuiver water.
