If Pitchfork Magazine reviewed the album OWT KRI Pilgrimage, it might go something like this: OWT KRI's latest offering, "Pilgrimage," is a whimsical journey through a sonic landscape that is equal parts bizarre and brilliant. From the opening track, "Moonlight Stroll," it is clear that this is not your average album. The mesmerising blend of synths, guitars, and quirky vocals creates a unique sound that is both otherworldly and strangely familiar. Tracks like "Electric Sheep" and "Funky Monkey" showcase OWT KRI's playful approach to music, with infectious hooks and off-kilter rhythms that will have you tapping your feet and scratching your head in equal measure. The band's penchant for experimentation is evident throughout, with unexpected sonic twists and turns keeping the listener on their toes. However, not every experiment pays off, with some tracks feeling a little too out-there for their own good. "Alien Funk" and "Retro Rocket" veer dangerously close to self-parody, with their over-the-top production and kitschy lyrics bordering on the absurd. But when OWT KRI hits the mark, they hit it hard. Tracks like "Galactic Groove" and "Starlight Serenade" are pure pop perfection, with catchy choruses and infectious melodies that will have you coming back for more. In the end, "Pilgrimage" is a mixed bag, with some moments of sheer brilliance and others that fall flat. But love it or hate it, one thing is for sure – OWT KRI will leave you scratching your head and tapping your feet in equal measure.
