Dirty Work
The Rolling Stones' latest effort, "Dirty Work," is like a pint of flat lager: uninspired and bitter. Mick Jagger's vocals sound more strained than a Brit on Brexit day, while Keith Richards' guitar playing is as forgettable as last night's bangers and mash. The album kicks off with "One Hit (to the Body)," a track that hits about as hard as a wet sponge. It's a cringeworthy attempt at blending rock and pop, and falls flat faster than a souffle in a microwave. The rest of the album follows suit, with tracks like "Fight" and "Winning Ugly" failing to impress even the most die-hard Stones fans. The band seems to be going through the motions, desperately trying to recapture their former glory but falling short at every turn. Dirty Work is a prime example of a legendary band past their prime, relying on tired tropes and uninspired songwriting. It's like watching your favourite pub turn into a trendy cocktail bar: disappointing, frustrating, and ultimately forgettable. The Rolling Stones may have once been the kings of rock 'n' roll, but Dirty Work proves that even legends can have their off days. It's a shame, really. But hey, at least we'll always have "Satisfaction."
