De Bach remedies werden allemaal ontdekt door Dr. Edward Bach, een bekende patholoog, homeopathisch arts en bacterioloog. Elke remedie is gekoppeld aan een menselijke gemoedstoestand. Om een voor jou relevante remedie te selecteren, denk je aan je eigen persoonlijkheid en je gevoelens of gebruik je de Adviesdraaischijf van Bach. Het is gebruikelijk om de remedies te combineren. Het maximum is 7 remedies. Deze kun je samen mengen in het Bach Mixing flesje. Door remedies te mixen, ontstaat er een remedie ideaal voor jou. De remedies worden meestal bereid via de zonmethode. Hierbij drijven de bloemenhoofdjes drie uur lang in zuiver water in het directe zonlicht. Een andere methode is de kookmethode, waarbij het bloesemgedeelte van de plant een half uur lang kookt in zuiver water. Bach remedies zijn ook geschikt voor huisdieren.
