De acordo com a Carta de Conjuntura do Instituto de Pesquisa Econmica Aplicada (Ipea), os jovens na faixa etria de 14 a 24 anos foram os mais afetados pelo desemprego no primeiro trimestre deste ano. Entre esses jovens, o desemprego subiu de 15,25% no quarto trimestre de 2014 para 20,89% no mesmo perodo de 2015, avanando entre janeiro e maro de 2016 para 26,36%. De acordo com o documento, mais de um quarto da populao jovem est procurando emprego, mas no encontra, e a taxa de ocupao de jovens vem caindo desde 2013. Entre os adultos at 59 anos, o desemprego atingiu 7,91% no acumulado deste ano at maro.
