ANIMA's debut album Enter The Killzone is a rollercoaster of a record that will leave you both exhilarated and exhausted. The band, hailing from the small town of Frogbottom, have managed to create a sound that is simultaneously nostalgic and cutting-edge, blending elements of 80s hair metal with modern hardcore punk. Lead singer, Roxy Lightning, has a voice that can soar to the heavens one moment and growl like a rabid dog the next. Her lyrics are equal parts poetic and profane, touching on themes of love, loss, and a whole lot of drinking. The guitar work on this album is nothing short of spectacular, with riffs that will make your head bang uncontrollably and solos that will make you question the existence of a higher power. However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows on Enter The Killzone. The production on the album leaves something to be desired, with some tracks feeling a bit muddled and muddy. The drumming can also be a bit hit or miss, with some moments feeling a bit too over the top for their own good. Overall, ANIMA's Enter The Killzone is a solid debut from a band with a lot of potential. With a bit more polish and refinement, they could easily take the music world by storm. So grab a beer, crank up the volume, and let ANIMA take you on a wild ride through the Killzone. Or maybe just take a nap. Your call.
